In February 2024, the Foreign ministers of Finland and India unveiled a special logo marking 75 years of deep friendship, cultural exchange, and collaborative spirit between the two nations. The 8th edition of India Day on August 18, 2024, to be held at Meripuisto, Helsinki celebrates 75 years of diplomatic relations and embraces the continued partnership, innovation, and mutual growth between India and Finland. The event theme is "Celebrating 75 years of India-Finland friendship".
Remember the electrifying energy of 2023? The pulsating rhythms of Bhangra, the graceful flow of classical dance, and the tantalizing aroma of Indian spices filling the air? Get ready to relive that magic and so much more! Embark on a captivating cultural odyssey, brimming with dazzling performances, mouthwatering culinary delights, and a unique opportunity to reconnect with your heritage.
India Day 2024 brings exceptional talent to the stage. Just like last year's captivating performances by the Tanushree Shankar Dance Academy, a prestigious dance institution known for its captivating fusion of tradition and modernity, this year promises an equally impressive lineup. Cultural performances from various Indian associations, and professional dance groups from Finland will showcase their dazzling performance. Feel the passion ignite as they present their unique take on the celebration of friendship.
The food stalls with an array of Indian culinary delights including Indian street foods from various regions of India were a major attraction. The cultural exhibition stalls showcasing handicrafts and ayurvedic products, and activity-based stalls were also popular among event visitors.
