Intia-päivä or India Day an annual one-day flagship event to showcase and promote multidimensional aspects of India in Finland. Four editions of India Day have been organized so far, the last on 18 August 2019 in Kaisaniemi Park, Helsinki, which saw participation of nearly 25,000 persons. The fifth edition is scheduled on Sunday 22nd August 2021 in the heart of Helsinki at main Railway square (Rautatientori). In India day 2021 we are expecting an even larger participation. For the past 4 years Suomi-Intia-Seura ry (Finnish-India-Society ry) along with Indian community and other Indian regional associations has been organizing India day as a one-day event in Helsinki as a unique celebration with objective of:
The first ever India Day was held on June 11th 2016 at Merikaapelihalli, Helsinki. This event attracted more than 4000 visitors throughout the day and hosted a variety of cultural performances by renowned artists like Tuomas Kantelinen, Kiureli Sammallahti and dance groups like Åbolly Dancers, Bollywood Kamlees, Danny's Bollywood Dance Crew to name a few.
